How long does it take to successfully complete a substance abuse outpatient program?

This is a good question and not an easy one to answer!

Everybody’s story is different. We help people from all walks of life and it’s clear, that human beings progress in their own way, at their own unique pace.

For some, the support they’ll need to get and stay on track is minimal and they may be in treatment for a few months. For others, the time needed to begin a solid recovery process will take longer (6 months to a year).

At The Council, we work in partnership with our clients to create individualized treatment plans that explore the goals and objectives needed for successful recovery. We regularly review the plans with clients, in a collaborative manner, to note successes and to create new steps for future success.  All successful completions are, indeed, a joint-effort between our clinicians and the people they serve!
